Invisalign™
Cosmetic Dentist serving Boulder and Denver, Colorado for over 30 years
If you need an orthodontic solution to teeth that are not as straight as you want them to be, and braces don’t seem to be an option, a solution to this can be found in Invisalign™. Invisalign do the job metallic braces do, but they do this in an almost completely invisible manner.
Invisalign are custom-made plastic aligners worn over your teeth. Each aligner is worn for two weeks, day and night, constantly working on straightening your teeth and improving your smile. As your teeth change, you will change Invisalign aligners to comfortably fit as the process continues.
If Invisalign sounds like something you might be interested in, please contact Kathleen for an initial consultation with Dr Stangl.
Though traditional metal braces must be worn for several years to see results, most Invisalign patients only wear their aligners for a year or two. Another difference between Invisalign aligners and traditional braces is that you can remove the aligners when you need to, such as eating, drinking, brushing your teeth, or going out for a special occasion. This gives Invisalign a marked advantage over braces and allows you to go about your life with confidence. This is especially the case since most people won’t even know you’re wearing Invisalign aligners.
Invisalign can correct:
- Widely spaced teeth
- Overbite
- Underbite
- Crossbite
- Overly crowded teeth
Invisalign Advantage
There are several advantages of wearing Invisalign aligners. They may only need to be worn for about a year for the average patient, which is a good thing for those who are self-conscious about their smile. Though each aligner is worn for only two weeks at a time before they are replaced with the next set in the series, you won’t have to see Dr Stangl every time. He’ll want to see how things are progressing about every six weeks or so. Removing the aligners should only be done for things like eating or brushing, but if you want to go out without wearing Invisalign, you have that option – something you can’t do with traditional braces.
Invisalign is made with smooth edges so they won’t irritate your cheeks or gums. Most Invisalign wearers will not feel discomfort at all, but those with sensitive teeth may feel uncomfortable when first changing aligners. By using Invisalign as recommended by Dr. Stangl, you will have an improved smile in a matter of months, not years.
